The Trip Home
We left mid-afternoon on Sunday after rock climbing to return home, and arrived just before 10 at night. Most of us half dozed / half watched the moves on the way back.
Our phenomenal selection of movies included Cocktails, Back to the Future, and Almost Famous. Definitely better than our movies on the way there: one consisted of a re-enactment of two British men hiking to the top of a mountain where the one fellow fell down a gorge, shattered his leg then got dropped down another gorge; the other about a rock-climbing family who had to cut the rope to drop their father or they'd all die. It really made me excited about the week-end ("Don't cut my rope!" was yelled A LOT.) I double checked the rope before I started rock climbing, but since I'm not an expert I don't know if it was of any use.
Most of us had blisters from the hiking boots and slight burns from the sun and sore muscles. I also tried to get a picture of some wild mountain goat-esque animal on top of a cliff near our hostel, but it came out too blurry. Damn mountain goats.
